Organization Has Urgent Need for Volunteers

HandsOn Suburban Chicago Vertical LogoHandsOn Suburban Chicago (HOSC) continues to monitor storm related needs of affected neighboring communities. At this time, additional help is needed to relieve the volunteers who have been active since the start of the storm. See below for a list of current needs. We will be updating the needs as they are requested, please continue to check the HandsOn Suburban Chicago webpage for current information on storm relief efforts.

 

Current Needs:

 

1. American Red Cross of Greater Chicago is requesting:

  • Assistance with bulk-item distribution in affected areas. Location and times depends on each affected area. Contact lori.rubin@redcross.org for further information.
  • Navigation volunteers to ride along with Damage Assessment team in affected areas. Contact HOSC at 847-228-1320 or Linda.Trilling@volunteerinfo.net for further information.

Contact American Red Cross for information on future Disaster Relief trainings.

 

2. Urgent Need in McHenry County, IL:

Volunteers needed to relieve sand-baggers at Nunda Township in McHenry County. Need is urgent for Sunday April 21, and Monday April 22.  Contact Emergency Management office at 815.338.6400 or call the township office at 815.459.4011. Preferably, go directly to the township office at 3510 Bay Road, Crystal Lake

 

3. CLEAN -UP Assistance:

Volunteers will be needed to assist affected residents with flood clean-up. Contact HOSC at 847-228-1320 or linda.trilling@volunteerinfo.net to be placed on a list until further information is provided.
