Solstice Hop & Vine Fest tickets on sale starting Thursday

Tickets for the Schaumburg Park Foundation’s popular Solstice Hop & Vine Fest ushering in summer go on sale Feb. 1. The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. June 23, at Meineke Park, 220 E. Weathersfield Way. Proceeds benefit recreation scholarships and other projects of the Schaumburg Park Foundation.

Python bites girl at fishing/outdoors show in Schaumburg

A 4-year-old girl was bit petting a 17-foot-long python Thursday at the Chicagoland Fishing, Travel and Outdoor Expo in Schaumburg. The snake was displayed by the Chicago Herpetological Society as part of an exhibit for the Chauncey’s Great Outdoors radio program, said Ellen Hopkins, spokeswoman for the show.

Schaumburg Library hosts Black History Month programs

Various programs honoring Black History Month will take place in February at the Schaumburg Township District Library’s locations in Schaumburg and Hanover Park. Programs for children begin with “Art Studio” from 4 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, in the Craft Room of the Schaumburg Library, 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

District 54 seeking student performers for 2018 Multicultural Event

Parents invited to visit District 54 Open Enrollment schools

District 54 held its Open Enrollment Fair for parents on Jan. 24. The fair provided parents with information on eight schools in our district:  Blackwell, Campanelli, Dooley, Enders-Salk, Hanover Highlands, Lincoln Prairie, Link and MacArthur.
